Let’s be honest: travel as blogger sounds like a perfect life, isn’t? At first, I hadn’t planned to publish the posts devoted to travel, but when my blog became my job and I started travel for it, I thought it would be interesting to share my tips and recommendations regarding trips and hotels with you. So if you’re thinking about following this way here are you’ll find out how to travel as a blogger, these tips are for you.
BUILD AN AUDIENCE
This point is the key. It relates not only to travel blogs or travel collaborations. Whatever direction you’ve chosen, first of all, you have to concentrate on building a decent audience. You can use SEO, your social media platforms, build an email list or pay for advertisements or all this at once (and I actually recommend to go this way) to find your readers.
CREATE THE TRAVEL CONTENT
Before contacting the PR manager of the hotel or airlines, make sure that you already have some travel related content. You need to create some interesting and unique blog posts devoted to travel, but you don’t have to pay a half of a monthly salary to spend one night in the luxury hotel and make the review for the blog. You can write a review of the hotel where you’ve been before or publish details on what to do or travel tips.
EMAIL TO BRANDS
Make a list of the travel agencies, PR managers of the hotels and airlines who are interesting for you. But before you reach out them, prepare some creative blog post ideas that might be interested for brands. And don’t forget to attach links to your travel blog posts in your e-mail.
There are thousands of different reviews on the web, so if you want people to read your, you have to provide something unique and useful. Make it with passion. And always ask your readers which information regarding traveling they’re looking for. The more valuable post you will make, the more likely that it will shared with large audience.
It’s very important to maintain your relations with PR managers and brands. Always send them a ‘‘thank you’’ email and include the link to the post devoted to your collaboration.
